The wireless sensor networks lab at Nile University was established in 2008 as part of the Wireless Intelligent Networking Center (WINC). Our lab focuses on the design and implementation of large-scale secure and efficient wireless sensor networks with application domains covering intelligent transportation systems, body sensor networks, smart homes, and classical sensor networks. Our research is multidisciplinary spanning information theory, networking, protocol modeling and analysis, signal processing, among others.

The WSN lab at Nile collaborates with universities and research labs worldwide, as well as, with local and international companies to develop cutting-edge technologies in the following areas:

  • Secure sensor networks
  • Location determination
  • Cross-layer optimization
  • Clustering algorithms
  • Elastic sensor networks
